As a cross-training alternative, boxing provides a break in routine and adds variety and intensity to your overall training program.   Many elite athletes and team sports such as hockey, soccer and football use boxing to improve athletic performance in footwork, balance, stamina, and physical confidence. FPB classes are also a superior form of cardio training through high intensity intervals.

What is FITNESS BOXING, FirePower Style?FirePower Boxing

Fitness boxing incorporates a number of boxing moves and techniques without the physical contact.  We teach throwing effective punches and moving with the focus and dexterity of a boxer, but you require no contact or prior boxing experience.

Training is rigorous, requiring a surprising amount of coordination and concentration. It focuses on upper body conditioning, working the arms, core abs, chest and shoulders. It also includes lower body exercises and dramatically increases stamina, power, speed, and agility.  Most classes will involve skipping, punching a bag and/or instructor-led focus mitts and abdominal crunches of course!

What do you wear?

  • Running shoes, cross-trainers or boxing shoes with light tread for foot rotation
  • Loose fitting clothing, track pants, shorts, T-shirt or tank top
  • Hand wraps**
  • Boxing gloves**
** Gloves & wraps are available for short term use, however members are encouraged to purchase their own for sanitary purposes.  They can be purchased through FPB.
